Houve Uma Escola normal superior na américa latina? o caso Brasil e Colômbia

Resumen

 Esta conferencia tem como objetivo primeiro discutir algumas idéias que venho matutanto1 faz alguns dias. Nada melhor do que um colóquio com doutorandos e professores para expor idéias novas e suscitar o debate. Partindo da premissa de que a Escola Normal Superior –ENS2 – da América Latina, em menor ou maior grau, foi influencida pelo modelo francês, pretendo apontar alguns aspectos da crise desse modelo, no final do sec.XIX e começo do XX, a fim de ambientar as minhas idéias. Em seguida, de forma resumida, colocarei o contexto da América Latina de fin-de-siècle, aqui representada pela Colombia e o Brasil. Por fim apresentarei as ENS de ambos os paíese e os anseios que as alimentaram na proposta inaugural, sua importância no período de glória– la belle époque da Escola Normal no Brasil e na Colômbia e aspectos de sua decadência. Nessa trajetória, procuro consolidar uma hipótese: a de que o modelo francês na America Latina nunca chegou a gerar uma intelectualidade dirigente para os países, e, por conseguinte, a ENS também não rea- lizou seu papel conforme o modelo imaginado, apenas formou uma casta de professores cultos nas humanidades tão cara à República.    

ABSTRACT
This text has as its objective a discussion of ideas that have been consolidating for some time; and nothing is better than conversations between professors and doctoral students to expose new ideas and stir up debate.Starting from the premise that the Upper Teachers College of Latin America, in smaller or greater degrees, was influenced by the French model, the author indicates some critical aspects of the model from the end of 19th to the beginning of the 20th century in order to provide a basis for his ideas. The author elaborates the context of Latin American teachers colleges at the end of the century, represented by Colombia and Brazil. The author presents the ideas behind the Upper Teachers College in both countries, and the desires that fedtheir initial proposal, their importance in the period of thebelle époque of the teachers colleges in Brazil and Colombia, and their decadent aspects.In summary, the author consolidates a hypothesis that the French model in Latin America was never able to generate a leading intelligentsia for the countries and, hence, none of the Teachers Colleges carried out their roles according to the imagined model. In other words, the model provided neither numerous cultured professors in the liberal arts nor superior teachers for the Republic.
