EVALUACION PRELIMINAR DE CULTIVARES DE UVILLA (Physalisperuviana L.) PARA ESCOGER MATERIALES CON BASE EN LA CALIDAD DEL FRUTO

Abstract

Durante el semestre B de 2001. en el Centro de Investigaciones Agrobiológicas (CIAB-Botana) de la Univer­sidad de Nariño, ubicada en Pasto (Nariño, Colombia) a 2820 msnm, con una temperatura media de 13°C y una precipitación media anual de 840 aun, se realizó el presente trabajo, con el objeto de evaluar las accesiones de la colección Nariño de uvilla (Physalis peruviana L), con el fin de escoger aquellos materiales con los cuales puede iniciarse un programa de cruzamiento y de selección, o realizarse ensayos tempranos de adaptación y/ o rendimiento. Se utilizó un índice de selección (1S) con base en las variables rendimiento por planta (g), diámetro ecuatorial del fruto (mm), contenido de sólidos solubles totales (grados Brix) y porcentaje de ácido cítrico. Se presentó una correlación positiva y significativa entre el rendimiento y el diámetro del fruto. El IS fue eficiente para escoger los mejores materiales, los cuales presentaron en promedio un rendimiento de 405.60 g/ planta, un diámetro ecuatorial del fruto de 19.92 mm. 14,21 grados Brix y 1.69 % de ácido cítrico.

ABSTRACT

During the second semester of 2001, at the Agricultural Biological Research Center (CIAB-Botana) of the University of Nariño, located in Pasto (Nariño, Colombia) at 2820 mals. with mean temperature of 13 °C and annual mean precipitation of 840 mm, this work was carried out with the purpose of evaluating the accessions of uvilla Nariño coliection (Physalis peruviana L), in order to choose some materials to start a mating and selection program, or to start early trials of adaptation and/or yield. The selection index used (SI) was based on yield per plant (g), equatorial diameter of fruit (mm), contents of total soluble solids (Brix grades) and percentage of citric acid variab!es₄ A positive and significant correlation between yield and fruit diameter was shown. The SI was efficient to choose the best materials, which presented an average yield of 405,60 g/plant, an equatorial diameter of fruit of 19.92 mm, 14,21 "Brix and 1,69 % of citric acid.
