IDENTIFICACION DE ARREGLOS AGROFORESTALES EN LA ZONA CAFETERA DEL VALLE DE PUBENZA EN EL DEPARTAMENTO DEL CAUCA

Abstract

El estudio se realizó en los municipios de: Cajibío. Morales, Piendamó. Popayán, Tambo y Timbio. Localiza­dos en el Valle del Pubenza en el centro del departamento del Cauca entre los 02° 21' 22" y los 02° 45' 47" LN basta los 76° 59' 21" dé LO de Greenwich. los cuales cubren un área aproximada de 4363 Km2. con 19°C y de 2066 mm en promedio anual con pisos térmicos templado y frío. El área de estudio presenta 83508 familias que dependen del cultivo del cate y un área de 64294 has. en donde se muestrearon un total de 214 fincas. El objetivo de! trabajo a través de la toma de información fue identificar las diferentes especies de plantas asociadas con el cultivo de café, para definir los sistemas agroforestales existentes en la zona cafetera. Los resultados principales fueron: El tipo de finca modal o de mayor predominancia en la zona es aquella donde el cafetal posee sombrío de guamos en combinación con musáceas y cultivos asociados de maíz, yuca, frijol y caña, y los linderos con cercas vivas y en los grandes productores lo importante son los cultivos comerciales. Además, en la mayoría de fincas, el sombrío se encuentra localizado en forma aleatoria o sin ningún tipo de arreglo y el tipo de mano de obra familiar predomina en los pequeños productores y contratados en los grandes productores.

ABSTRACT

The study was carried out in the municipalities of Cajibio, Morales, Piendamo, Popayan, Tambo and Timbio, which are located in the Valley of Pubenza in the center of the department of Cauca between the 02^a 21 ' 22 and the 02° 45 ' 47 LN up to the 76° 59 ' 21 of LO of Greenwich, which cover an approximate area of 4363 Km2, with mean temperature of 19°C, a mean of 2066 mm annual with different climates.
