This text constitutes a contribution to the discussion that was generated in the process of University Reform, which in the University of Nariño has been developing since 2008, with the purpose of modifying its Statutes, to exercise Socied the university principles of autonomy and democracy, referred to in the Political Constitution of 1991 and Law 30 of 1992. This process is still in force and has the direction of the University Assembly, an organization created and made up of its constituencies (teachers, students, employees, workers, retirees). This is a process of reform that resulted in formulation of the Development Plan 2008-2020 “Thinking the University and the Region”, Institutional Educational Project (PEI) and new General Statute, approved by the Academic and Superior Councils, respectively.
