Abstract

This article discusses the main contributions of Burton Clark about his conception of Entrepreneurial University as a specific type of institution of higher education. This particular kind of entity is linked with the environment and proactively respond to market needs, without neglecting their academic values and its traditional mission as an educational institution that works with knowledge. For Clark, the main function of these institutions is still teaching despite the progress achieved by research.
