EL TRATADO DE LIBRE COMERCIO Y SU RELACIÓN CON LA EDUCACION SUPERIOR

Colombia is facing the process of negociating a Free Trade Treaty with the United States. The academic community and the educational organizations of the world warn the countries about the existing threats to include education on commercial trades. This article explains the modalities on commercial negotiations of services and provides examples on how to carry them out in the educational field. General information about GATS (General Agreement on Trade Services) is included on the negotiation treaty process. Providing some examples, barriers are analized according to the way the academic services are given. The article concludes with the presentation of four possible scenarios for education in the actual globalization process.Downloads
