OBSERVACIONES SOBRE ACLIMATACIÓN DEL INSECTO BENÉFICO HIPPODAMIA CONVERGENS GVR. EN LA CUENCA DEL RÍO GUÁITARA

Resumen

Dada la importancia que reviste para el Departamento de No­rmo y para Colombia la presencia de Hippodamia conversens Guer, se hace un balance de cómo y dónde está actuando dicha especie de insec­to predator. Se señalaron cuatro zonas de la Cuenca del Rio Guáitara, sus condiciones ecológicas, los cultivos más comunes sobre los cuales es normal la población de H. convergen. Se pone de manifiesto el gran mar­gen de adaptabilidad que posee el insecto. Además, confirmado con la bi­bliografía, se estableció que su régimen alimenticio está basado en plagas de cuerpo blando, consistente en diez especies de áfidos, otros homópteros, estados jóvenes de lepidópteros, thrips y por lo menos dos especies de ácaros.

ABSTRACT

Considering the importance of Hippodamia convergent Guer, for Nariño and Colombia, the study presents the role played by the predaceous insect. Four areas were located on the basin of the river Guaitara, with their ecological conditions and most common crops, where the popu lotion of H. convergent is normal. It is pointed our the great margin of adaptation which shows the insect. Moreover, in agreement with other investigations, it was established that their food is mainly plagues of soft body comprising 10 species of aphids, lepidopterist in young stage, some other species of Homoptera, thrips and at least two species Acaridae.
