Abstract

The 18th anniversary of the GICIL Group has motivated the writing of this article to leave a record of its past, present, and future. Consequently, the first section describes the background that generated the need to group together for collective research and the protagonists of its gestation. The following section presents the strategic guidelines, research lines and consolidation strategies, academic achievements, and the Ministry of Science’s endorsement of the group’s quality. Finally, some strategies to consolidate the group are proposed for the coming years.
