Abstract

This article indicates part of the results of ethnography with hermeneutic perspective. Its theoretical demarcation was developed inside the cultural Latin-American studies (postcolonial theories). It interprets urban violence that is not completely visible but has been inherited and camouflaged in the orality of the young people of Nariño University. It starts with the investigation of epistemic violence of the colonial period and modernity in the construction of a nation. Later it describes how these are articulated to others from the nation’s two party period. Finally it approaches in a general form to the contemporary ones, which are the result of the previous ones. In this way it shows that in the orality of the university students, it is possible to investigate the sociocultural transformations, omitted conflicts along that these actors pass nowadays.
