Abstract

This paper has the  purpose  of  examining  the  representations  of the  nation  that  occurred in   San Juan  de  Pasto  during    the    war  in  Colombo –  Peru  between  the    years  of 1932-1934, through  the  application  of  the  Critical  Discourse  Analysis  to columns  of opinión  published  in  the  local  newspaper   “El Derecho”,   written  press  that  for  the  time is  the means  of  communication   with  greater  regional predominance  over  the  events of the war. In this  sense,  it  was  possible to characterize  6 representations  based on 12 discourses    that   show  the   construction  of  a      modern   Colombian  nation  based  on references    and  colonial   values   that  allude  to: honor,   sacredness,  generosity,  sacrifice to  the  mother  country  and  kindness.
