Abstract

Youth political participation in Colombia is a topic of great interest today, as young people play a fundamental role in building a democratic and participatory society. This article explores youth political participation through its conventional and non-conventional forms, analyzing motivations, barriers, and current trends in the Colombian context. The aim is to analyze and compare conventional and non-conventional youth political participation in Colombia, examining the factors that influence young people’s participation in the political sphere. Through a detailed analysis of the forms of political participation of Colombian youth, the article seeks to better understand the role that young people play in the country’s political life and their contribution to the consolidation of democracy and peacebuilding. In this context, it is essential to explore the motivations, barriers, and challenges faced by Colombian youth in their political participation, as well as to identify strategies and mechanisms that can promote greater involvement of this population in the country’s political processes.
