LA EDUCACIÓN DE CALIDAD: UN RETO PARA LOS PASTUSOS

Resumen

La educación es el mejor medio que tiene el hombre para crear pensamiento y por eso Colombia le apostó a que en el año 2025 tendría la mejor educación de Latinoamérica. Por la misma razón le corresponde al departamento de Nariño y al municipio de Pasto determinar cuál será su estrategia para lograrlo. Para ello es necesario conocer el escenario actual suministrado por el Informe de Competitividad 2018-2019 que ubica al departamento en el puesto 20 en educación básica y media y en el 14 cuando se habla de educación superior. Para medir el desempeño educativo por parte del estado colombiano existen varios indicadores, pero para el caso del presente artículo sólo se toma los resultados de las pruebas Saber, por cuanto allí se reflejan la organización curricular, el trabajo de los docentes, la orientación de los directivos-docentes, la dedicación de los estudiantes y el acompañamiento de los padres de familia. Quizás el mayor análisis se hace, en esta oportunidad, sobre la estructura curricular de la educación básica y media, razón por la cual se la compara con la de Finlandia, país que ha logrado mantenerse entre los mejores evaluados en el mundo, llegando a la conclusión de que, entre los dos países, en materia de currículo, no hay mayores diferencias. Esto significa que la baja calificación de nuestros estudiantes colombianos en las pruebas PISA debe analizarse en relación con las metodologías de enseñanza-aprendizaje y con los medios de evaluación que utilizan nuestros docentes. En consecuencia, se sugiere que para el departamento de Nariño y el municipio de Pasto debe implementarse, entre otras estrategias, el Proyecto como una estrategia didáctica que va más allá del trabajo por competencias.

ABSTRACT

Education is man’s best means of creating thought. That is why Colombia bet that by 2025 it would have the best education in Latin America. For the same reason, it is up to the state of Nariño and the municipality of Pasto to determine what their strategy will be to achieve this. Consequently, it is necessary to know the current scenario provided by the Competitiveness Report 2018-2019 that places the state in the 20th place in elementary and secondary education and in the 14th place in higher education. To measure the educational performance of the Colombian state, there are several indicators, but for this article, only the results of “Pruebas Saber” (A national test) are taken because they include the curricular organization, the work and guidance of teachers, the dedication of students and the support of parents. For this article, the greatest analysis is made on the curricular structure of elementary and secondary education in comparison to Finland’s, a country that has managed to remain among the best evaluated in the world, concluding that the curricula of both countries are almost similar. This means that the low rating of our Colombian students in the PISA tests must be analyzed in the context of the teaching and learning methodologies and the assessment and evaluation types used by our teachers. Therefore, it is suggested that the state of Nariño and the municipality of  Pasto should implement the project, as a methodological strategy that should be based on criteria different from the competency-based curriculum.
