For many decades, English teaching has been a topic of discussion for many teachers who have looked for different ways of teaching, among them, the communicative approach that according to (Savignon 2007), this approach offers different methods and strategies to students for engaging them into conversational and interactive classes which allow the development of communicative skills. Within this competence, it is the oral participation which is a problem that is presented in elementary school students because it is affected by psychological and linguistic factors. Taking into account the information above mentioned, teachers should seek suitable and innovative strategies based on the communicative approach if what is expected to do is to achieve an improvement in the oral participation part in students of primary school.
