In this article, I try to make an approximation of the importance of ethnomusicology in the music education degree in ethnomusicology, whereas the impact on teacher training in this area with theoretical and methodological bases, will be used to build strategies into their work as future teachers.
This perspective in music education is committed to contributing to the preservation, conservation and reconstruction of cultural and musical values. This takes into account the recommendations of various international agencies do with regard to the need to include in the training of teachers and musicians in general, knowledge of traditional music, ethnic and folk cultures of the world.
