The Colombian press as a crucial element in the perceptive change of the Rojas Pinilla dictatorship

The historical development of Colombia has been evident for a dialect imposition of ideologies which, has disrupted not only traditional parties (Conservador and Liberal), but also it has generated the root central of national violence. This politics violence increase for the press, it interpreting like first media in the century´s XIX and XX, as since its beginning the press has been a credible expression of political ideologies, until transform in the coercive tool to formation of public opinion, which would contribute to constitution of imaginaries and decisions about national phenomenon.
The present essay, supported in the qualitative paradigm, try to look for the relation between: national press, political parties and violence, through of specific case study: Resume the dictatorship of Gustavo Rojas Pinillla and pretend analyze the role played by the perception of this dictatorship and like it perception influences the increase of violence and the radicalization of perceptions. So, this research, raised from the historical-hermeneutical method, pretend to study the discursive intention of the main newspapers (El País, El Tiempo, El Espectador) from 1953 to 1957 front the dic- tatorship and the image they formed, inasmuch as in the begin is approved (Positive dictatorship) and progressively ends in total repulse (negative dictatorship).
