Estudio de la actividad antioxidante y eficiencia anti-radical in-vitro
Keywords:
Anthocyanin, Free radicals, Antioxidant activity, Antiradical efficiencyAbstract
The fruit of the motilon tree (Hyeronima macrocarpa), has a purple colored pulp, because of the presence of anthocyanin pigments. These are a kind of pigments which are recognized by the capacity to capture free radicals. This characteristic lead to make an experimental study, by in-vitro tests, in antioxidant activity of two lyophilized extracts of pulp: one raw extract (MPC) and other enriched in polifenols (MPX) by solvent extraction and column chromatography. With the free radical 2,2 azinobis- (3 ethilbenzotiazolin-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS*+), it was observed more antioxidant activity of the MPX extract than the MPC extract. With the test that use the free radical 2,2-Difenil-1-picrilhidrazilo (DPPH*), was noticed that the MPC extract has major antiradical efficiency. Furthermore analysis of the fenolic (FT) and anthocyanin content (AT) of the extracts was made, allowing a relation between these parameters with the antioxidant activity and another between this fruit with other fruits well knows by its nutritional value. The richness of this parameters in the studied extracts, provide a suggestion about the important role that these extracts could play in the reduction of the cellular oxidative damage. However is needed to make in-vivo test of the inhibitory effect of the extract.
