The author must adhere to the presentation guidelines described here.

• The Journal adopts the requirements of uniformity of manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals, according to the Vancouver System.
• The title-page will contain: title, name of the author(s) in order of importance according to their role in the work (first investigator or main author, second co-investigator, third others, etc.), a small curriculum of the authors indicating date of birth, identity document, education level, ORCID number, standardized signature (must be registered at https://www.iralis.org), current position and institutional affiliation, email address (preferably institutional), telephone number, and mailing address. The participation of the authors must be sufficient to publicly accept the responsibility of their work, the content, or any portion of it.
• Citations are presented with a superscript and without parentheses, being listed consecutively in the order in which they are mentioned for the first time in the text. All consulted documents are to be noted at the end of the paper, under the heading “References.”
• Original articles resulting from research should not exceed 40 references and at least 60% should be from primary information sources, preferably current (last five years).
• The tables and figures should begin with the title and sequential numbering. Only the first one should contain the city and year. At the end of each of these the source should be mentioned. If it is not included, it is assumed that it was elaborated by the author(s).
• All tables and figures must be cited in the text, in the order in which they appear. In the case of tables, only use horizontal lines. A maximum of 5 tables or figures are permitted.
• For tables, only use horizontal borders.
• Figures must be of good quality and sent in an attached file in Office Word format (.docx).
• Authors should place explanations in the footnotes, not in the title.
• The articles may have a maximum length of 12 pages. For other documents, the length may reach up to 15 pages (letter size, Cambria font, size 11, 1.5 line spacing).

• The author must submit the article in the Open Journal System (OJS) platform.
• The author must register (username and password), following the steps that demonstrate how to send the article. In addition, one can register as an evaluator, or reader.
• All entries must be sent with the cover letter , signed by all authors, guaranteeing that the document is unpublished, that it has not been published in another written or virtual medium, nor is it participating in an arbitration process in another journal (Download the model in the Information for Contributors section).
• Additionally, the active participation of each author in the research, data analysis, and manuscript writing must be acknowledged. Likewise, authors will certify in the cover letter that they exonerate Universidad y Salud from any conflicts of interest between the authors, that all the information provided in the system is true, that they authorize the reproduction of material subject to copyright within the article, funding sources, and any conflicts of interest that may exist on the part of the author(s).
• They also certify that all data included in the article that comes from previous work(s), has been referenced, regardless of whether they come from the same authors. If the article under evaluation is a sub-analysis of a project that has already generated a previous publication, this must be cited.
• It is essential to attach a copy of the ethics endorsement provided by the institution that endorsed the research project.
• Finally, the author will transfer copyright to Universidad y Salud Journal. If accepted, the publication will fall under the license Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). manuscript
• It is not the responsibility of the Journal to make decisions about authorship/ collaboration, nor to intervene as an arbiter in authorship conflicts.
• Authors should send information about possible evaluators for their article (name, institution and email).

To specify contributions to the manuscript, the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) system has been used, which classifies participation into 14 roles:

1. Data curation: Management activities to annotate (produce metadata), scrub data and maintain research data (including software code, where it is necessary for interpreting the data itself) for initial use and later re-use.
2. Formal analysis: Application of statistical, mathematical, computational, or other formal techniques to analyze or synthesize study data.
3. Funding acquisition: Acquisition of the financial support for the project leading to this publication.
4. Investigation: Conducting a research and investigation process, specifically performing the experiments, or data/evidence collection.
5. Methodology: Development or design of methodology; creation of models.
6. Project administration: Management and coordination responsibility for the research activity planning and execution.
7. Resources: Provision of study materials, reagents, materials, patients, laboratory samples, animals, instrumentation, computing resources, or other analysis tools.
8. Software: Programming, software development; designing computer programs; implementation of the computer code and supporting algorithms; testing of existing code components.
9. Supervision: Oversight and leadership responsibility for the research activity planning and execution, including mentorship external to the core team.
10. Validation: Verification, whether as a part of the activity or separate, of the overall replication/reproducibility of results/experiments and other research outputs.
11. Visualization: Preparation, creation and/or presentation of the published work, specifically visualization/data presentation.
12. Writing – original draft: Preparation, creation and/or presentation of the published work, specifically writing the initial draft (including substantive translation).
13. Writing – review & editing: Preparation, creation and/or presentation of the published work by those from the original research group, specifically critical review, commentary or revision – including pre- or post-publication stages.

Title: It should be short, give a clear and precise idea of the subject of research, variables, and target population. It will not exceed two lines, and will not use abbreviations. The final version of the approved article must have the title in Spanish, English and Portuguese.

Authors: Complete information of all authors, which includes full names, training, ORCID number, institutional affiliation and email address (preferably institutional). The order of appearance will be decided by the authors, according to their contribution.

Abstract: Presents the essential aspects of the article in a synthetic way, with the following aspects: introduction, objective, materials and methods, results, and conclusions. It should be written in the past, except for the last sentence that presents the conclusions. Don`t exceed 200 words. The final approved version will be presented in Spanish, English and Portuguese.

Keywords: Correspond to the main variables and concepts developed in the work. Must be between 3 and 5 words. The final approved version will be presented in Spanish, English and Portuguese, which will be consulted by the author in the following links:

Sustainable Development Goals: Indicate at least one of the 17 SDGs related to your research.

Introduction: Describes the research problem, the point of view from which it will be addressed, and the interest of the topic for the area of research, and the reader. The objective of the manuscript should be indicated in the final paragraph.

Materials and methods: Describes the process that was used to solve the research question. It will describe population, sample and types of sample allocation, population characteristics (sex, age), as well as the type of study and analysis, evaluation methods and instruments used and its validity. Similarly should describe the statistical methods with enough detail so that a versed on the subject with access to the original data, the reader can verify the findings are reported. Specify any computer program, commonly used, that has been used.

Results: Summarize the results of the study. The use of tables or original figures is required to facilitate the presentation and adequate visualization of the data, hence the need for them to be clear. It is also important to avoid repeating the information that appears in the tables or figures (no more than four), in the text. It can be written in the present so that the findings are considered scientific evidence, or in the past as part of a previously realized process.

Discussion: The analysis of the research question in the light of the results should should be presented in the analysis. How the results were obtained, and if a hypothesis was put forward should be explicitly stated whether the results support it or not. The results are compared with those of other investigations from primary information sources. Brief improvements to the research itself or to new research can be suggested briefly. The discussion section addresses the contribution, or contributions, of research or reflection. It must be written in the present, in order to support the actuality and evidence of the results.

Conclusions: Should coincide with the objectives, results, and discussion. The article should present the contributions made by the research, whether in the form of carrying out the processes, conceiving the ideas or understanding a situation. Likewise, the limitations of research, and the new perspectives created in the field of research, must be made clear.

Recommendations: Are optional, and are used in cases where researchers want to emphasize the limitations and new problems generated with the conclusions drawn.

Acknowledgments: If desired, cite people or institutions that have collaborated with the research.

References: lIst of texts, documents and other works consulted for the construction of the document and cited in its body. Must appear at the end of each article, and be numbered in a strict, consecutive order (Normas Vancouver). The references must be organized with the help of a bibliographic reference manager (Mendeley – EndNote - ZOTERO etc.), since any error (additional or deleted spaces, etc.) will prevent the article from being properly digitized for publication.

Author Contributions: According to the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) (Required).

Funding sources: Where appropriate, the sources of funding for the project(s) of which the manuscript is derived should be listed.

Example: The development of this research was financed with the researchers' own resources.

Data and Materials Availability: Refers to the datasets and materials produced during the study, which may be made publicly available upon reasonable request to the corresponding author, ensuring their use in accordance with ethical research procedures. Ethical Approval and Consent to Participate: Title and consecutive number of the signed document from the institution that approved the research, including the full name of the organization, location, and date (Required for research articles).

Example: Act No. 004 of April 24, 2024 issued in San Juan de Pasto, Colombia by the Ethics Committee of the Universidad de Nariño.

Conflict of Interests: Authors must declare any conflict of interest.

Example: It is declared that there is no conflict of interest between the authors (Required).

Statement of responsibility: The authors must declare that the views expressed in this article are their sole responsibility (Required).

Example: All authors reviewed and approved the final version for publication in the journal.

Consent to Publication: Approval declared by all authors for the publication of this manuscript.

Example: It is declared that the authors are responsible for the content and its veracity (Required).

The responsibility as authors entails being aware of the modifications and corrections sent by the journal regarding the article proposed for publication.

Published manuscripts are categorized under the following thematic sections:

1. Social Determinants of Health: Encompasses economic, environmental, cultural, and political circumstances that influence population health.
2. Control and Management of Health Risks and Emergencies: Focuses on institutional capacity-building, surveillance, control, management, and response to health risks, including outbreaks of communicable diseases, emergencies, and risk factors for non-communicable diseases, mental health, and injuries.
3. Participation and Social Mobilization in Health: Addresses the actions of social actors with the skills and opportunities to identify health-affecting situations and propose community-involving solutions.
4. Human Resources Development for Health: Includes policies, academic programs, and interventions related to training, continuing education, and the conditions of human resources in public health.
5. Health Services Quality: Focuses on equitable access to comprehensive, high-quality healthcare services, and health system financing.
6. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: Encompasses actions to guarantee access to public health interventions, in order to reduce exposure to risk factors, and promote healthy environments. Examples include policies for non-communicable disease risk factor prevention, regulation of marketing and promotion of products, promotion of breastfeeding, physical activity, tobacco-free environments, worker health protection, food security, and environmental health.

The works to be published may include:

1. Research article: Document that presents, in detail, the original results of completed research projects. The structure generally contains five important aspects: introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusions.
2. Review article: Document resulting from completed research, where the results of published research on a field in science or technology are analyzed, systematized and integrated, in order to account for advances and trends in development. It is characterized by presenting a careful bibliographical review of at least 50 references, and describes how the selected topic was found, databases consulted, years of search, etc.
3. Short article: Short document that presents preliminary or partial original results of scientific or technological research, which usually requires prompt dissemination. It requires at least 15 bibliographical references and no more than 25. Do not exceed 12 pages.
4. Subject review: Document resulting from the critical review of the literature on a particular topic.
5. Letters to the editor: Critical, analytical, or interpretative positions on documents published in the Journal, which in the opinion of the Editor-in-chief constitute an important contribution to the discussion of the topic by the scientific community of reference.
6. Editorial: Document written by the editor, a member of the editorial committee, or a guest researcher on orientations in the thematic domain of the Journal.
