Abstract
Publications such as the journal History of Colombian Education, by publishing research findings and the reflections of researchers on educational issues, facilitate the formation of academic communities and research networks.
This means that, in the field of education, in addition to disseminating new knowledge, journals fulfill a crucial role in processes aimed at improving educational quality. Hence their importance and the urgent need to promote and support them.
The articles published in this issue are diverse in their subject matter; however, throughout most of the texts, it is clear that this plurality does not imply a lack of focus, but rather, a connection through the authors' critical perspectives on the topics.
