Moreno y Escandón general study plan

Abstract

The period between 1760 and 1780, is characterized by the income of illustrated ideas to the New Kingdom. A reference that must be done by being an impact and contribution to the educative debate in that epoch, it is the provisional method of studies of 1774, known as "Moreno-y-Escandón Plan". The illustración arrived to the New Kingdom of Granada by the natives, and it was Don Francisco Antonio Moreno Díaz-y-Escandón that after arriving from Europe assumes the work of elaborating a proposal with the purpose of transforming the educative system ruling. The planea intention in the proposal was to change the obsolete verbalist and dogmatic teaching methods used by the religious communities, who for transmitting the speculative sciences and perpetuate the scholastic tradition, did not know the development of the societies and the scientific advances obtained in that epoch.
