This research article proposes to relate school orientation with the digital culture, with the purpose of constituting a network that allows to elaborate an enriched comprehension of the youth environment. The origin of this work is the research project “School and mediatic education” carried out in the Escuela Normal Superior from Putumayo (ENS). This study begins with the recognition that digital territories are becoming stronger in the construction of the students’ senses. The institutions supported by robust walls are being crossed by increasingly liquid and thick environments. The current sociotechnical changes account for the emergence of virtual territories that potentially imprint their stamp on the subjectivities. In this sense, it is completely valid and urgent to bring the students’ reflections about their interactions in these environments: the way in which these interactions construct senses, their daily journeys and the implications regarding the ways they consolidate knowledge, the granted meanings and the sensitivities elicited by these encounters. In this manuscript, we describe the way the media reaches and intermingles in the lives of basic education students from ENS, emphasizing in the recognition of the quotidian aspects and importance of the media in their lives. This article concludes by proposing a series of tasks that are necessary in this environment and that must be addressed from the domain of the school guidance.
